Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary 2015 Edition
It’s hard to believe, but 50 years ago this week, Ford debuted the first-ever Mustang to attendees at the 1964 New York World’s Fair in Queens. To commemorate this monumental anniversary, Ford unveils a special edition 2015 Mustang which will make its official debut at this week’s New York Auto Show. Based on the 2015 Mustang GT with a Performance Pack upgrade, each model is powered by Ford’s 5.0-liter, naturally aspirated V8 engine that is estimated to produce more than 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. Inside its cabin, the 50th Anniversary Edition sports a cashmere-stitched, leather-wrapped steering wheel, with a similar detail seen on its instrument panel, shift boot, door inserts, seats and center armrest. Prospective buyers will have their choice of either a six-speed automatic or manual transmission and just two color options – Kona Blue and Wimbledon White. Furthermore, to coincide with the Stang’s first year of production, Ford will only produce a total of 1,964 anniversary models.
