Ferrari 250 1962 GTO to Hit €40 Million Euros
A 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, one of only 39 ever built, is set to hit the auction block with an asking price of €40 million EUR (approximately $54 million USD). The stunning auto was developed by Giotto Bizzarrini with styling by Sergio Scaglietti and was originally produced to compete in the FIA’s Group 3 Grand Touring Car category.
When new, the car cost $18,000 USD in the states but prospective buyers had to be personally approved by Ferrari Enzo and his U.S. distributor, Luigi Chinetti. One of the most prized Ferrari models in existence, we’ve no doubt that, despite its formidable asking price, the car will have a new home when the auction ends.
