Paul Smith X Land Rover on a One-off Defender

Land Rover has enlisted the sartorial acumen of Paul Smith to create a customized one-off of the Defender. Created with the assistance of the Land Rover special design team, the model has 27 different exterior colors, in addition to satin accents on the door handles, wheels and mirrors. The interior boasts leather and fabric seats with contrasted stitching, with a leather-wrapped dashboard and a Paul Smith-customized fascia. The roof also adorns a special illustration of a bee — signaling a reference to the countryside and the heritage of the car.

Paul Smith x Anglepoise Type75 Special Edition Table Lamp

Iconic British fashion label Paul Smith has teamed up with Anglepoise to present a new adaptation to the classic Type 75 table lamp. Crafted by renown British industrial product designer, Sir Kenneth Grange, the piece features Paul Smith’s trademark use of colors — think shades of grey, olive, yellow and lime — over a timeless Anglepoise silhouette. The special edition table lamp is now available for pre-orders from Paul Smith for £150 GBP (approximately $250 USD).

The British designer’s new warm weather styles range from both casual options like sweatshirts and tees, to more tailored options such as woven shirts and trousers in refined, lightweight fabrics. Included among the standouts are pieces like the graphic-driven Mushroom Print Sweatshirt and all-over patterned Mushroom Print Fine Cotton Twill Shirt, along with textured jacquard sweatshirts and a mesh bomber jacket that’s perfect for transitional weather.

Celebrating 40 years of fashion excellence, the London Design Museum provides a look into the eclectic world of designer Paul Smith with its latest exhibition “Hello, My Name is Paul Smith.” From his company’s humble beginnings in Nottingham to its international prominence of today, the collaborative exhibit will explore various stages of design and production with hopes of showcasing how his techniques in traditional tailoring are retained as well as juxtaposed against a signature contemporary edge.
