Summer has arrived and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome the season of BBQs, beer gardens and trips to the seaside! I really love summer and below you will find the 10 reasons why summer is my favorite season of the year!

1. Ice Cream. The perfect date? Strolling along the sea front, with great company and a delicious gelato!

2. Late nights. There’s something about getting home from work when it’s still light that gives you bundles of energy! Dinner with friends, strolls in the park, there's so much to do when the evenings are longer.

3. The best foods are in season. Strawberries, cherries, grapes and watermelon, beautifully ripe like they only are in summer. Perfect for a fruit salad on a sunny day.

4. Al-fresco dining. We love a good picnic, and what better way to enjoy the sun than with tasty food outside?

5. The weather! There’s nothing like a sunny day to give you those happy feelings! Trips to the seaside are a must when the sun is shining.

6. Festivals. The season of fun has arrived! There’s a festival to suit everyone, so why not have a look at what’s out there? The smaller, quainter festivals are often the best…

7. Adventures. The warmer weather makes outdoor adventures much more fun! Bike rides, country walks – what are your favourites?

8. Barbeques. As soon as the sun comes out, so does the BBQ! Friends, family, sunshine and food, what could be more perfect? Leaving the winter coat, hat and scarf in the wardrobe and replacing them with sunnies, shorts and flip-flops!

10. Nature. And last but not least, nature! We get to see the flowers, butterflies, and beautifully coloured birds in all their glory.

The Linen Suit
Suit: Antony Morato

Suit: Antony Morato

Linen suits in earthy, pale colors are a great idea for summer weddings and other dressed-up, outdoor affairs. They’re cool, comfortable, and gentlemanly. You just need to be careful of one thing: looking like a literal sack of potatoes. Linen is a fabric that will rumple and stretch out the second you call your Uber, so the cut and fit of the suit is everything. I chose mine from Antony Morato and I paired it with a black T-shirt and a pair of camel boats.

Α Day in Zurich

Although it’s routinely placed at the top of lifestyle rankings, Zurich is rarely, if ever, rated as one of Europe’s cultural capitals. There’s a perception that it’s a bankers’ city – a Swiss Square Mile without any West End to escape into. While it is true that high salaries and a strong currency mean Switzerland’s biggest city is expensive for visitors, with some planning, and a focus on culture instead of cuisine, it makes for an enjoyable break, whether or not it is made part of a skiing holiday.

The city boasts cultural big-hitters including the Kunsthaus, one of Europe’s great modern art museums, and Museum Haus Konstruktiv, which showcases “concrete, constructive and conceptual art” in a former electricity substation. Zurich-West, a former industrial district, is a hub for contemporary art, design, food and architecture. The whole city is relatively car-free and bike-friendly.

Fashion is a big thing as well! In every little corner of the city you cans pot stylish and posh people walking silently around. Luxury fashion is huge there and people take risks regarding their style.

I found myself in Zurich and I wanted to explore the city but I needed a cute outfit in order to fit with the crowd. So I chose a Tom Tailor pair of trousers and a very cool and rich khaki color Religion Shirt. I paired them with my new Balenciaga sock boots,

The Vacation Outfit
IMG_1563.JPG

Packing for summer vacation is a more difficult endeavor than it seems at the first glance. It would be much easier to wear nothing but your favorite shorts, a pair of flip flops and a cotton t-shirt, but if you want to travel as an adult man instead as a decayed college student in a drinking adventure, you will need much more than that. Being fashionable is not just a “girls’ thing”, it is something that men should strive for, no matter if they are going to an opera night or a walk in the park. This year’s vacation is the perfect opportunity to finally get a grasp of this fashion thing and gear up with all the right pieces.

Begin with picking up this season ultimate item and it is nothing else than the white jeans! It is the easiest item to style it and very difficult you can go wrong with it. To be safe I chose a classic pair of suede boots and a suede brown tshirt that gave me this extra stylish thing that I wanted to achieve! Do not forget to pack a nice black pair of sunglasses as well that goes with everything!

Love For This Maison Martin Margiela Leather Jacket
IMG_3761.jpg

You may have noticed that a few leather jackets have been appearing on my blog recently, and lets just say I’m a little bit obsessed with them at the minute. It doesn’t matter what season it is or what the temperature is, you can always throw a leather jacket over the top of any outfit. During early Spring it’s all about layering and a leather jacket is that perfect piece to layer on colder days when we’re not quite ready for t-shirt weather. Of course there’s the added fact that they make you look grungy and badass, but in general they are quite an easy item to style.

So, here’s a casual, weekend-proof outfit featuring my favourite leather jacket.

Any weekend outfit has to consist of a comfy pair of jeans, and you can’t go wrong when you match your leather jacket with some trusty denim. I love them because they’re stretchy enough to be comfy and the rips at the knee add to the grungy vibes. I’m finishing off the casual look with some new black ankle boots from Calvin Klein.

The ''Forever & Ever'' Denim Jacket

The denim jacket is a timeless fashion staple. Comfortable, casual, and easy to wear, what’s not to love about this wardrobe essential? So, if you’ve been neglecting yours and leaving it hanging in the back of your closet, think again. The stylish and versatile piece of outerwear deserves to be donned with a range of looks and promises never to let you down. From cool casual outfits to sharp, smart casual styles, this must-have jacket for men can do it all, and we can prove it. Now, all you need to do is prepare to be inspired because we’re about to show you exactly how to wear a denim jacket in style this season

If you don’t yet own a denim jacket, it’s time to invest. While that means deciding upon the colour you want, it also means selecting the fit. Today, denim jackets are available in many shapes and silhouettes, meaning that you have a lot of choices. While loose and oversized designs are excellent for creating a relaxed appearance, fitted and cropped styles look sharper. For a classic cut, opt for a denim jacket that finishes on your hips. It should also feel snug but not too tight when the buttons are done up.

I chose for this summer this Antony Morato denim jacket with the 'Forever & Ever' logo in the back! I paired it with white sneakers, a casual jocker from Tom Tailor and a navy Antony Morato T-shirt.

Dressing with style changes everything
Total outfit: Hackett London

Total outfit: Hackett London

It is actually not surprising that most men have no idea how to dress – it is a classic case of the blind leading the blind. Most guys will copy what their friends are wearing, happy to fit in and not attract any unnecessary attention. Some go one step further, emulating looks on billboards or in men’s lifestyle magazines. Others try to show off with luxury brands. A few give up entirely.

It’s not hard to dress well. It certainly requires far less money than most assume. However, it requires some patience and a willingness to try something new. Just as with any major undertaking, the first step involves a change of mindset.

You have to convince yourself that it’s good to dress well. This is very important. Become comfortable with the idea of permanently changing how you look. Give yourself the permission to reap the rewards.

The choose your clothes but not try hard! The easiest way to look fashionable and stylish is to choose a well tailored chino like the one that I am wearing in the pictures from Hackett London and a classic shirt with perfect fit.

Craving Summer

Summer is the most carefree time of the year. After a long winter, I find myself craving the warmth of the summer sun and all the activities that come along with it. Here are a few reasons why you may be craving the summer season just like me.

  1. Summer concerts: Whether you love country, rock, pop, or rap, you could not be more excited for your summer music venue to open it's door for summer. These nights become the ones you'll never forget.
  2. County Fairs : Whether you live in a small country town or in a big city, the travel to any local fair over the summer is worth it.
  3. Driving with the windows down : There's not a better feeling in the world than driving with the windows down during the summer and blaring your favorite music for all to hear.
  4. Beach days : Sometimes you need to take a break from all the chaos that summer brings and just have a relaxing beach day with your friends. Whether you're on a lake or an ocean, nothing beats relaxing at the beach on a hot summer day.
  5. Boating : Boating with family and friends during the summer months is how some of the best summer memories are made. Tubing and water skiing are just added bonuses to the fun of boating.
  6. Hiking with family and friends is an experience all its own but nothing beats the rewarding view you get at the top.
  7. Ice cream dates : You know that summer is right around the corner when your favorite ice cream shop opens for business in early spring. Over the summer you are guaranteed to always see someone you know when you go to get ice cream at your favorite local spot.
  8. Old friends : Overall, the best summer memories are made when you meet up with your old high school friends and catch up like nothing has changed.

A Day In The Comfiest Jeans
Total outfit by Pepe Jeans / Bandana: Vintage by my collection

Total outfit by Pepe Jeans / Bandana: Vintage by my collection

If there’s one thing you want to do at the end of the day, it’s wiggle out of your jeans and throw on a pair of sweatpants. But what if you bought such comfortable jeans that you didn’t even need—or want—to change out of them?

It’s totally possible, which is why I thought that you would appreciate showing you the comfiest pair of jeans that I own by Pepe Jeans. I was spending last week in Monemvasia, when I tried on those jeans for the first time. From that moment that pair of jeans become my on-the-go jeans. They fitted so well and I felt completely free to move.

Below you can find some tips and simple rules to choose your own comfy pair of jeans:

  • They should have some stretch to them. Often, that means there is some spandex mixed into the fabric. With stretch, you can move how you want without feeling stiff (exactly how traditional denim can be).
  • They should feel broken in by the time you slide them in. None of this you can’t breathe in them/they hardly move with you/you’re hoping a few washes will fix them. Nope, they have to be jeans that you want to walk out of the fitting room wearing.

Characteristics of a Quality Overcoat
Coat: Zara / Jeans: Diesel / Shoes: Saint Laurent / Sunglasses: Saint Laurent / Knitwear: Zara

Coat: Zara / Jeans: Diesel / Shoes: Saint Laurent / Sunglasses: Saint Laurent / Knitwear: Zara

A good overcoat should be warm, fit you, and make you look great.

Fabric. If you plan to wear your overcoat for years to come, make sure you buy a coat that is made of 100% wool and that it weighs at least 4 pounds (for average-sized men). In general, heavier coats last longer because the fabric is more durable.

Sleeves. The coat sleeves should completely cover the suit sleeve as well as the shirt cuff, and even reach a little further down. This way, you should not get cold on your wrists when you wear gloves with it.

Length. Traditionally, overcoats were rather long-reaching garments, extending almost all the way to the ankles. These full-length coats are often the coat of choice for seasoned gentlemen as they can compliment a wide range of figures…to include those of us a bit rounder in the midsection.

Today, most younger men wear their coats knee-length, which is anywhere between the lower part of the knee to slightly above. This only compliments men with trim builds and who wear the coat closer to the body. It’s a convenient option if you find yourself entering and exiting your automobile multiple times a day.

If you pick a full-length or knee-length coat is a matter of choice, but bear in mind that the full-length coat may be warmer, and can make you look a little more seasoned than the knee-length coat.

Fit. When you buy an overcoat, make sure to wear a shirt and a sportscoat or suit jacket because the coat has to fit on top of it.

Some men like a looser fit while younger men often prefer a trimmer fit. However, if you see X-wrinkles when buttoning your overcoat, it is definitely too

The Return Of The Reebok Classic
IMG_3101.jpg

Love them or loathe them, the '90s favourite Reebok Classics are back on the fashion radar, with bloggers  spearheading the retro trainer renaissance. But if you remember them first time round, will you stick to time tested wisdom and leave well alone or bravely embrace the old-school look?

A mix of sporty and luxe (the combo of leather and nubuck making them an easy off-duty piece), the selection of colours brings a touch of masculinity to the chunky style. It may seem like a daring throwback, but street style stars prove you can put an adult spin on the look – just add tailored trousers and a camel coat  or a total denim outfit like me and treat them like a fun alternative to Stan Smiths or Nikes.

How To Wear A Beret
thumb_IMG_E5786_1024.jpg

Wearing a beret may seem like a tricky sartorial manoeuvre, but it needn’t be. Worn since the Bronze Age, the hat went into mass production in 19th century France and Spain, and remains popular to this day. A timeless design, the beret cropped up at Loewe, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Wales Bonner this season, among others. Here is a way to wear the latest trend. I paired it up with my Massimo Dutti Camel Coat, a white sophisticated wool turtleneck from Massimo Dutti as well, with a khaki pair of trousers and my Santoni leather boots. My Beret is from my personal collection and it is a vintage one.

HOUSE 99 BY DAVID BECKHAM
thumb_IMG_5860_1024.jpg

David Beckham hosted a party on Wednesday 28th of February to mark the launch of his new men’s grooming brand, House 99. Hosted in London’s warehouse club Electrowerkz, the evening featured performances by Loyle Carner and DJ sets from Nick Grimshaw and Josh Ludlow. Luckily I was invited as well. The vibe was great and the guests were dope!

The world of experimental hairstyles and changing looks is a well-known to Beckham. “I created House 99 to give people the inspiration as well as the right products to experiment and feel completely at home doing so,” he said.

Guests were enlivened by Carner’s performance, which included an impromptu freestyle rap dedicated to the footballer and songs from his hit album “Yesterday’s Gone.” Dressed in a black Champion hoodie, the rising star drew a crowd of exhilarated guests who rapped along to his confessional, soul-searching lyrics. Fábio Marques, the renowned barber from Lisbon’s Figaro’s barbershop who helped Beckham with the venture, was also in attendance. Figaro’s is known as a haven of male grooming and feels like an old-fashioned club with tiled floors, brick arches and animal heads on the walls.

House 99 rolls out to retailers in 19 countries starting this week.

New Obsession
thumb_IMG_E5116_1024.jpg

Spring is around the corner. And it was time to search for another pair of sunglasses in order to beat the sunshine. Searching for the perfect pair of sunglasses, I found the one that I fell completely in love with them. And it is a pair of YSL sunglasses. The color, the shape, the design, everything on them felt like you need them! So, I did! I bought them.

During my last trip in London for the International launch of house99 by David Beckham, they were like my best friend. I didn't even need to take with me a second pair because they suit with all my outfits.

Go check them and do not hesitate to text me if you need some extra tips.

The Perfect Casual Jacket For Spring
Total outfit by Pepe jeans

Total outfit by Pepe jeans

Spring is around the corner! And we have to be well prepared for the new season. One of my latest crushes is this Pepe jeans bomber jacket! A bomber jacket is the perfect men’s spring jacket as it works just as well for both day and night. Just like many other men’s wardrobe staples, the origins of this garment can be found in the 20th century’s military wear. The MA-1 flight jacket was designed for the US Air Force in the 50s and was worn by US pilots up until the Golf war.Today, bomber jackets come in different fabrics. The most common ones are nylon, suede and leather.  If you already own a black bomber jacket, it may be time to pick a whiter tone.

Style and Fit

With bomber jackets, you can keep it casual or dress it up. Match your jacket with a pair of trousers, a pair of trainers and a white shirt to get a trendy and sharp look.

When choosing a bomber jacket, you should pay special attention to the shoulders. It’s the most important aspect for a perfect fit.

  • The jacket seams should lie directly on the corner of your shoulder
  • You should be capable of lifting your arms without struggle
  • Regarding the length, the jacket should hit the top of your hips.
  • Bomber jackets are usually slim fitted, yet you should be able to zip it up easily

How to wear the grey Hackett London suit
Suit: Hackett London / Shirt: Hackett London / Scarf: Personal Collection

Suit: Hackett London / Shirt: Hackett London / Scarf: Personal Collection

When it comes to suits, nothing beats the staples. And by staples, we mean black, navy and grey. Navy and black have always had a general popularity for their adaptability, but grey also emerges as a worthy suit colour choice. In fact, grey suits have become more prevalent in street style, their versatility especially appealing to the younger market. For something clean, understated and classic, a grey suit does the trick. However grey can also be tricky to perfect. Done right grey reads youthful and modern; done wrong it will leave you looking outdated and frumpy. To style formal light grey suits, keep in mind that it is all about contrast. With your formal shirts, a crisp white shirt is failsafe paired with a black tie or a scarf, but do not fear to experiment with other colours. A muted powder blue complements light grey and other pastel tones can work well also. Balance out your silhouette with a slimmer tie to modernise your look. Don’t forget that accessories are crucial to pulling together an outfit. Find a unique patterned pocket square and fedora to make your suit pop and stick to silver watches, tie bars and cuff links to align with the grey tones of your look.

My Parisian Looks

Jacket: Tommy Hilfiger / Cap: Balenciaga (old) / Shirt: Massimo Dutti / Turtleneck: COS

Parisian style is legendary. More than clothes, it's state of mind. With winter on the approach, take a look at how I styled my looks during my last visit in Paris. Most Paris men have moved on from the beret and pencil-thin moustache, but some classics like the Breton tee, rollnecks and well-cut blazers remain. Not forgetting the refined bohemian who still wanders the cobble-stone streets in silk, linen and some floppy type of hat. Key tip on how to dress like a Parisian? They are big on neatness (no hipster beards here) and impeccable fit, wearing clothes that highlight the silhouette, more so than big statement prints and look-at-me colours. Active wear is big in the French capital too, mixing with traditional tailoring that changes with the seasons: tweed in winter, cotton in summer. But the coolest truc of all for how to dress like a Parisian, is the simple way they work the basics – effortlessly donning a bomber, jeans and tee.

Style Defined: The Double-Breasted Jacket
IMG_1126.jpg

Among the many classic menswear staples that have gone in and out of style only to see a resurgence in popularity recently, the history of the double-breasted jacket is particularly interesting and unexpected.

When you think of a double-breasted jacket/suit, what’s the first thing to come to mind? My guess is either a stodgy 80s or 90s banker-type or a wide-shouldered caricature of a mafia boss. Either way, it’s all formality and rigidity, right?

THE DOUBLE-BREASTED JACKET WAS ORIGINALLY BANNED BY MANY BUSINESSES AS INAPPROPRIATE OFFICE ATTIRE.

But that’s where your assumptions would lead you astray. In fact, the origins of the double-breasted jacket go back to a distinctly casualstyle called a ‘reefer’ jacket.

Like most all men’s jackets, the reefer jacket was born in the sporting world. Originally very casual and usually worn as outerwear, in the late 19th century it was associated with gents heading to tennis matches or other country affairs, and was in fact banned by many businesses as inappropriate office attire.

THE DOUBLE-BREASTED JACKET ORIGINATED IN THE SPORTING WORLD AS A CASUAL GARMENT CALLED THE REEFER JACKET.

Yet, over time, the double-breasted jacket was slowly adapted into a more formal piece – a shift heralded in large part by the Duke of Windsor (who led many style trends of his time). However, even when he started wearing the style to official public outings, it was originally seen as gauche and poor taste (or rebelliously counter-traditional, depending who you ask).

However, just as the recent wave of menswear enthusiasm has brought the more simple and versatile single-breasted suit back into the casual wardrobes of stylish men, the double-breasted suit has made a more widespread come-back as well. It’s a bold move, but the payoff can be a striking and distinctive look.

Thanks for reading.
